Privacy Policy
Sony Honda Mobility Inc. (“we” or “us”) is the joint venture company
established by Sony Group Corporation (”Sony”) and Honda Motor Co.,
Ltd. (“Honda”) to engage in the sale of high-value-added electric
vehicles (EVs) and provide services for mobility. Sony Honda Mobility
Inc. is based in Japan.
This privacy policy ("Privacy Policy") applies only to the information
collected by us through certain subpages of this website and any other
websites, webpages and other online offerings that post a link to this
Privacy Policy (“Properties”), whether accessed via computer, mobile
device or other technology. Other websites and properties of Sony
Group Corporation and Honda Motor Co., Ltd. and their affiliated
companies (collectively “Group Companies”), including some that are
linked to/from this website, may have different privacy policies;
therefore, please review the privacy policy notices on those websites
or properties if you visit them.
This Privacy Policy explains the information that we may collect when
you interact with us through the Properties and our practices with
respect to that information. Please read this Privacy Policy
carefully.
Information that you provide us
1. What information is collected?
We collect information from you directly, automatically when you visit
or use the Properties, and sometimes from third parties. Some of this
information may be considered “personal information” under various
applicable laws. We consider information that identifies you as a
specific, identifiable individual to be personal information (such as
your name, phone number, e-mail address), and we treat additional
information, including IP addresses and cookie identifiers, as
“personal information” where required by applicable law.
To this date, we have not launched any specific products or services.
If we decide to introduce specific products or services to some
countries/regions in the future, we will provide additional privacy
policy notices separately in accordance with the laws applicable in
those countries/regions in advance.
(a) Information that you provide us
When you contact us in connection with an inquiry or request for information about us, we may collect contact information (including, but not limited to, your first and last name, postal address, telephone number and e-mail address) along with inquiries, requests, and comments addressed by you.
(b) Information collected automatically
In addition to any information that you choose to submit to us,
whenever you visit or interact with the Properties or our content, we,
as well as our third-party analytics and advertising providers or
other service providers, may use a variety of technologies that
automatically or passively collect information about how the
Properties are accessed and used ("Usage Information"). Usage
Information may include, without limitation, browser type, operating
system, the page served, time spent on the Properties, the pages you
have viewed, and location information.
We may also automatically collect your IP address, or other unique
device identifiers ("Device Identifiers") for the computer, mobile
device, technology or other device ("Device") you use to access the
Properties. A Device Identifier is a number that is automatically
assigned to your Device when you access the Properties or our servers,
so that our systems can identify your Device. We may also collect an
Advertising ID (such as the Android AAID), which is assigned by the
platform operator for applicable Devices.
Third parties may also use technologies that automatically or
passively collect personal information about your online activities
over time and across different websites when you visit or use our
Properties or other online websites and services. For example, some
third parties' embedded content or plugins on the Properties, such as
social media sharing tools, allow them to learn that you or your
Device have visited or interacted with our Properties, and they may
combine this information with other identifiable information they have
collected about your visits to other websites or online services.
These third parties may handle this information, and other information
they directly collect through their content and plugins, pursuant to
their own privacy policies.
The technologies used on the Properties to collect Usage Information,
including Device Identifiers, may include:
Cookies: A “cookie” is a small text file that a website asks
your browser to store on your device to remember information about
you, such as your language preference. Cookies that are set by us are
called first-party cookies. The Properties may also use third-party
cookies, which are cookies set by an organization other than us, and
these are typically used to support our advertising and marketing
efforts. We cannot control the storage or access to these cookies. You
should review the privacy and cookie policies of these services to
find out how these third parties use cookies and where your cookie
data is stored and processed. For more information about cookies,
including how you can control their use, please review
“Cookie Policy”.
Web Beacons. A “web beacon” (also known as image tag, pixel
tag, clear GIF or web bug) is a small piece of code used to collect
advertising data, such as counting page views, promotion views or
advertising responses. Web beacons or similar technologies may be used
for various purposes, including, without limitation, to count visitors
to the Properties and to monitor how users navigate the Properties.
Embedded Scripts. An “embedded script” is programming code that
is designed to collect information about your interactions with the
Properties, such as the links you click on. The code is temporarily
downloaded onto your Device from our server or a third-party service
provider, is active only while you are connected to the Properties,
and is deactivated or deleted thereafter.
2. How do we use your information?
We may use the information we collect in order to reach out to you and respond appropriately to the inquiries, requests and other communications addressed by you, and conduct future business negotiations and related communications with you.
3. Who has access to your information?
In general, we do not sell, rent or otherwise disclose information
about you to third parties without your consent.
However, there are exceptions. Your personal information that is
communicated to and stored by us may be made available to other Group
Companies and to third-party contractors as described in this section.
Group Companies and third-party contractors
Your personal information may be shared with other Group Companies and/or third-party contractors for the purposes of pursuing the activities outlined in section 1 (What information is collected?) and section 2 (How do we use your information?) on our behalf, acting as processors for us.
Our service providers
We regularly use third-party service providers and other Group Companies to provide us with services, such as system testing and website maintenance. When we do this, we sometimes have to share data that we hold with the service providers to get the services to work properly. Your personal information is shared only when strictly necessary. We ensure that these service providers and other Group Companies have the same safeguards to protect your personal information as detailed in this Privacy Policy.
Business transfer
If we sell or transfer a portion of or all our business, your personal information may be transferred by us to the purchasing or acquiring entity as part of the transaction. If we sell or transfer your personal information to a purchasing or acquiring entity, you will be duly informed.
Legal purposes
We may retain, use and/or disclose any of your personal information as required or permitted by law, regulation or order, including to government bodies and law enforcement agencies, to investigate complaints made by or against you, prevent fraud, comply with the law, meet a reasonable request from such bodies or protect or defend ourselves, or others, against illegal, criminal or harmful activities.
4. Security; Retention and Monitoring
Unless otherwise required by law, we are not responsible for
monitoring or recording any activity on the Properties, although we
reserve the right to do so.
To help protect you and others, we monitor use of the Properties, and
we use the information we collect, in order to: identify fraudulent
activities, prevent abuse of and investigate and/or seek prosecution
for any potential threats to or misuse of the Properties, ensure
compliance with the applicable Terms & Conditions and this Privacy
Policy, investigate violations of or enforce these agreements, and
otherwise to protect the rights and property of ours, our partners, or
customers. Monitoring may result in the collection, recording, and
analysis of online activities performed on the Properties. If you do
not consent to these conditions, you must discontinue your use of the
Properties.
We seek to maintain reasonable security measures designed to help
protect the information we collect against unauthorized or accidental
disclosure, access, misuse, loss, or alteration. There is no such
thing as perfect security. Although we strive to protect the
information we collect, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of
such information.
We may retain information as long as it is necessary for us to fulfill
the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. In addition, we may
retain information for an additional period as is permitted or
required to, among other things, comply with our legal obligations,
resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Where and when required by
applicable law, we shall delete the information we collect. Even if we
delete information from active databases, the information may remain
on backup or storage media.
5. Personal Information Processing and Transfer
We operate globally and the Properties are available to users worldwide. By using the Properties, you fully understand and unambiguously consent to the processing, storage and transfer of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. Please be aware that the information we collect may be transferred to and/or processed in one or more countries other than the one in which you reside and/or are a citizen. The privacy laws of such jurisdiction(s) may not be as comprehensive as those in the country where you reside and/or are a citizen. We comply with all applicable legal requirements relating to the processing and transfer of personal information
6. Changes
We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time, without prior notice to you, and any changes will become effective immediately upon posting, so please review this Privacy Policy periodically. If we make any material changes, we will post an update notice on the Website prior to the changes becoming effective.
7. Contact information
If you have any questions or comments about our practices regarding personal information or about this Privacy Policy, please contact us.
