Mobility is facing the dawn of a new era. That is why we, Sony Honda Mobility Inc., have begun. We are a new joint venture, merging two unique philosophies, leveraging the intelligence of both, understanding one another, and by actively embracing cutting-edge technologies, aim to create new mobility and services.

We believe the value in mobility is to move people, to move their emotions. Through a new style of entertaining mobility and services, for an everyday commute, or for travel on a special occasion, we aspire to enrich each individual’s lifestyle.

Representative Director, Chairperson and CEO

Yasuhide Mizuno

Yasuhide Mizuno serves as CEO of Sony Honda Mobility, where he leads the company’s strategy to usher in a new era of mobility.
Mizuno began his career at Honda Motor Co., Ltd. in 1986, focusing primarily on sales and marketing. In 1995, he embarked on more than two decades of international assignments across Asia, including Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Australia, and China. During his tenure as Chief Officer of Regional Operations (China), he spearheaded the creation of a joint venture dedicated to developing electric vehicles for the Chinese market and advancing connectivity and software technologies.
In 2020, Mizuno was appointed Managing Officer at Honda, concurrently serving as Chief Officer of Automobile Operations. In this role, he drove the introduction of electric vehicles and led efforts to revitalize the four-wheel business.

Izumi Kawanishi

Izumi Kawanishi serves as COO of Sony Honda Mobility, leveraging his engineering expertise to lead the core technology development that drives AFEELA’s value creation.
Kawanishi joined Sony Corporation (now Sony Group Corporation) in 1986 and contributed to the development of major products such as PlayStation® and Xperia™. In 2014, he was appointed Corporate Executive, Senior Vice President (SVP). From 2017, he headed the AI Robotics Business, where he led the development of the aibo robot and oversaw VISION-S, Sony’s mobility initiative. In June 2021, he became Executive Vice President, Officer in charge of AI Robotics Business at Sony Group Corporation.

Shugo Yamaguchi

Shugo Yamaguchi serves as Deputy President of Sony Honda Mobility, where he oversees corporate divisions including Business Strategy, Accounting and Finance, as well as Customer Engagement. Concurrently, as President and CEO of Sony Honda Mobility of America Inc., he leads the deployment of AFEELA in the U.S. market.
Yamaguchi joined Sony Corporation (now Sony Group Corporation) in 1992. He began his career managing operations for the electronics business in Japan and the United States before moving to the Corporate Planning division. There, he played a key role in shaping Sony Group’s business strategies, including launching joint ventures, managing acquisitions, and driving new business development and strategic exploration. In 2020, he was appointed Vice President for New Business at Sony Corporation.

Kojiro Okabe

Kojiro Okabe serves as Executive Vice President of Sony Honda Mobility, overseeing the entire design and development of AFEELA, including vehicle engineering, autonomous systems, and the E/E (Electrical/Electronic) architecture. Okabe joined Honda R&D Co., Ltd. in 1999 and in charge of Crash Safety R&D. In 2011, he served as Project Leader for the Body Domain of the first-generation VEZEL/HR-V (NM). His responsibilities later expanded to include Head of Overall Dynamics Performance and Head of Product Development, culminating in his leadership of the second-generation VEZEL/HR-V (FMC) development in 2017. In 2021, he was appointed Business Unit Officer (Mid-Size Model Lead) within Automobile Operations Business Management Division in Honda Motor Co., Ltd. In 2022, he became Operating Executive and Business Unit Officer in charge of Battery Electric Vehicles, concurrently serving as General Manager of the EV and Recurring Business Division.

Manabu Ozawa

Manabu Ozawa serves as Director of Sony Honda Mobility. Ozawa joined Honda Motor Co., Ltd. in 1989 and dedicated his career primarily to Human Resources, including international assignments in Italy and the UK. After serving as General Manager of Human Resources, he was appointed to the Board of Directors of Honda R&D Co., Ltd. in 2015. In 2020, he became Operating Executive and Head of Corporate Planning Supervisory Unit at Honda. In 2023, he was named Managing Executive Officer and Chief Officer for Corporate Strategy Operations.

Naoya Horii

Naoya Horii serves as Director of Sony Honda Mobility. Horii joined Sony Corporation (now Sony Group Corporation) in 1988 and dedicated his career to business strategy and corporate planning, primarily in the electronics sector. In 2023, he was appointed Corporate Executive Officer at Sony Group Corporation. In this capacity, he oversees Corporate Planning and Control , as well as the Disc Manufacturing and Storage Media businesses.
