Sony Honda Mobility’s Highlight at CES® 2026
Las Vegas, NV, January 6, 2026 – Sony Honda Mobility (SHM) is exhibiting at CES® 2026 in Las Vegas, NV, presenting its latest vision for the future of mobility.
On January 5th (local time), ahead of the show’s public opening, Sony Honda Mobility held its first standalone press conference at CES® Media Day. The company shared updates on AFEELA 1, which is scheduled to begin customer deliveries later this year, and introduced a new prototype, AFEELA Prototype 2026, making its public world debut.
At this conference, in addition to presentations by three of our company’s executives, three guest speakers from our partner companies and other organizations took the stage to discuss how the future of mobility will expand through collaboration with AFEELA, as well as their expectations for our brand.

Beginning January 6th, the SHM booth opened to the public, offering an immersive look into AFEELA’s core principles: Autonomy (evolving autonomy), Augmentation (expansion of the body and space-time), and Affinity (collaboration with people and symbiosis with society).
The exhibit features the AFEELA 1 pre-production model in all three exterior colors (Tidal Gray, Calm White, Core Black), alongside the newly revealed AFEELA Prototype 2026. Together with exhibitions by Sony Group companies, partner collaborations, and sustained-focused displays, the booth illustrates how AFEELA is evolving beyond a vehicle into a connected mobility platform and Sony Honda Mobility’s vision for the future mobility.

AFEELA Co-Creation Program:
Sony Honda Mobility positions AFEELA not just as a vehicle, but as an open platform for innovation. The booth introduced the AFEELA Co-Creation Program, which brings together creators, developers and service providers to build new mobility experiences. The initiative is presented through a dedicated video installation.
Entertainment Suite Area:
- Next-Generation Navigation Concept by Q-Games and SHM
Q-Games and SHM present a next-generation navigation concept for the autonomous driving era through a demo unit simulating an in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) system. While showcasing abstract visual expressions, the concept also looks ahead to the future integration of sensor-based environmental data, redefining navigation as a form of “mobility entertainment.” - Drive-Based RPG Game App by Sony Group Corporation
Sony Group Corporation’s Mobility Business Division showcases a prototype drive-based RPG game application currently under development. Utilizing vehicle data planned for provision through the AFEELA Co-Creation Program, the game dynamically responds to vehicle behavior, creating an interactive experience that connects driving and gameplay. The concept is presented through an IVI-simulated demo unit.

A video installation highlights the diverse group of partners collaborating with SHM on the development of AFEELA.
Sustainability:
The Sustainability Corner showcases SHM’s approach to sustainable mobility, featuring videos and samples of interior materials made with recycled and plant-based components, recycled materials used in the vehicle frame and hood, and the inspirations behind AFEELA’s exterior color palette.

Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation:
Demonstrations showcase the SPAD distance sensor for LiDAR (IMX479) and the automotive image sensor (IMX623) used in AFEELA. Through physical models and video, the exhibits illustrate sensing technologies designed to monitor the vehicle’s surroundings in 360 degrees and support early hazard detection to enhance safety.
Sony Corporation:
AFEELA’s in-vehicle audio system, AFEELA Immersive Audio, incorporates Sony’s proprietary spatial sound technology developed through its home theater systems. This technology delivers a powerful sense of immersion, enveloping occupants in richly layered sound even within the vehicle interior. At the booth, visitors can experience this audio environment through a simulated demonstration using the HT-A9M2 (BRAVIA Theatre Quad).
